Why Choose a Wire Dog Crate?

• Perfect for Housebreaking -  If you haven't heard yet, crate training is the best method for housebreaking your canine. 
  
• Ventilation - Wire crates also provide the best view for your dog and are completely ventilated. 
  
• Easy Storage - One of the advantages a wire dog crate has over a plastic model is that it is easily stored.  Most of the metal dog crates you will find here are collapsible, and fold flat for storage. 
  
• Durability - It's a metal dog crate, and metal is tough! Obviously, wire crates are very sturdy and much more durable than a soft crate. Cheaper models are available, and they are definitely much more flimsy, but you won't find them here.

Some Considerations for Wire and Metal Dog Crates:

• Not Airline Approved - To my knowledge, a wire crate is not approved for airline use at this time, so if you are looking for an air travel crate, then plastic is a better option for you.  
• Heavy - If you have a large pet, then of course, you need a large crate, and it is obvious that a wire dog crate metal dog crate is going to be much heavier than a plastic crate, and especially a soft crate, but some like the Pet Gear models come with wheels which help in moving them around.
